America took a wilderness and built the most prosperous, most free, most powerful nation in human history. Not because Americans are better than other people, but because the system unleashed human potential instead of crushing it.

Millions of immigrants — including me — came to America with nothing and built everything. Not because America gave us things, but because America let us build.

The American system welcomed a Soviet refugee in 1979. It gave me no guarantees — only an opportunity. It demanded hard work, persistence, and risk. And it rewarded them.

This is the system that works. This is the proven path. This is what we are being asked to abandon.

I have lived in both systems. I know which one works. I know which one destroys.
