I was born in Soviet Ukraine. I lived inside collectivism for 27 years. I was raised on its promises. I was educated in its schools. I was shaped by its conditioning.
I escaped in 1978. I built a new life in America — inside a system that works.
I have now lived in freedom for 47 years.
I have seen both systems from the inside. I know what both look like — not from books, not from theory, but from living and breathing inside them.
And I can tell you: what is happening to America right now is something I recognize.
